SSEF 2026
The Singapore Science and Engineering Fair (SSEF) is a national competition organised by the Ministry of Education, the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) and the Science Centre Singapore.
This year, 319 projects were shortlisted for the main category with RGS contributing a total of 17 projects. In addition, 12 RGS projects were shortlisted under the Junior Scientists Category. Under the guidance of their dedicated teacher advisors and mentors, our students achieved commendable results at the fair:
Lakshana Rajadurai (Y5) and Goh Chirong Hanaka (Y5) have also shared in
their reflections:
“Our SSEF journey was both meaningful and enriching. It challenged us to think critically and communicate our ideas clearly and confidently to both judges and the public. Along the way, we developed resilience, teamwork, and problem-solving skills as we worked around difficulties we faced when conducting our experiments. This experience has strengthened our interest in using science to develop practical and sustainable solutions to real-world challenges. We are truly grateful for this opportunity to learn and grow as researchers.”
We would also like to extend our heartiest congratulations to RGS alumnae Ge Jingyi (Class of 2024), who was awarded the Gold Award for her project titled “Optimizing Bacterial Outer Membrane Vesicles (OMVs) for mRNA-Based Immunogene Therapy.” She will go on to represent Singapore at the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) 2026, which will be held from 9 to 15 May in Phoenix, Arizona.
